Serious complication set in following Donís recent knee surgery. After his return from the World Cup in New Zealand he experienced considerable pain in his reconstructed knee to the extent that he was admitted to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline on 21 October. Poison was rapidly gathering in the knee and spreading. The poison has now been drained but he will have to undergo further surgery to have the knee rebuilt again which will mean another stay in hospital. He is in good spirits and will welcome visitors. As usual he has his blackberry with him and may be contacted in the normal way
