Biggar 2XV 30 Kirkcaldy 2XV 3

The Kirkcaldy2XV made the difficult trip to Biggar. With a sharp overnight frost clearing just in time, and after being rolled by a road roller the pitch was declared playable for this league match.

It was mainly one way traffic for the whole game. The defence that served Kirkcaldy's cause so well last week was somewhat left at Bev. Park.

Biggar were the better side for 75% of the game and took the game to Kirkcaldy from the start. A missed penalty was followed quickly on 11 mins by a converted try. Kirkcaldy finally got into the game and were only kept out by some good defence by the home side. Biggar again took their chance and increased their lead to 10 points just before half time.

Biggar controlled the second half and never really gave Kirkcaldy's hard working squad much crumbs to live off. Missed tackles combined with good inter-play allowed Biggar to gain yards. Strong lineout work and good mauling created a try, with another try coming straight from the restart. Kirkcaldy never gave up though, and some strong running got skant reward from both the referee and their opponents. Biggar had scored their fourth try by the time Littlejohn got the Kirkcaldy side of the scoreboard moving. Biggar's 10 adding the final points from a penalty to make the final score Biggar 2XV 30 v 3 Kirkcaldy 2XV.
