As the S1/2s reach the conclusion of their season we would like to thank everyone for contributing to the teams great success.

Firstly, and most importantly, to the 34 boys that have played for the S1/2s this season. It is great that the majority of these boys regularly play and train – with between 20 – 30 at each session – ☔️, hail or ☀️.
We hope to these all these boys progress through the club and will be playing rugby for our senior teams in years to come.

Hard work, commitment and team work has seen the team flourish. The spirit displayed by them and the development of each player has been amazing since the start of the season. I’m sure all the supporters can pay testament to this. The coaches have pushed the boys, working on fitness and skills with the boys embracing these sessions.

The boys have played 18 games, winning 13, drawing 2 and having only 3 losses (all within 10 points). More importantly maximising game time for all players, rotating our squad each game/week. There really has been some cracking games throughout the season, against some good opposition.

This would all not have been achievable without the dedication and commitment shown by squad, with boys travelling from near and far. This is also true of our coach/management group. Jimmy and Michael, our main coaches. Hours of planning and preparation each week and giving up their Sunday mornings (all for a coaching jacket). They have been well supported by Andy Page and Stephen, Stuart and Greg. Paddy, Graeme H and Corgi all helping out at various sessions too. All these folk have supported, mentored and shaped our players into the fine young men are today. With a large part of the squad coming from Balwearie High School – the Development Officer – Corgi – doing a great job with local schools.

We cannot forget our managers Ann and Sharon. Doing all the unseen work, booking pitches + changing room, referees, arranging fixtures, transport, fund-raising, kitchen duties etc and keeping us all updated and organised. 👍

Also Paddy, our youth convenor for all his hard work and Mrs B our CPO.

To all our parents, you all uphold the ethos of the club, supporting not only the blues but also the opposing teams. Travelling round the country to watch the boys, transporting them back and forward to training, helping out on game days and just being awesome. Everyone at the club really appreciate your dedication to support the sport we all love and showing that we really are all one big rugby family #kirkcaldyrugby.

Finally thanks to Cairn Independent , our shirt sponsors and Cafe Continental, both local businesses supporting our team. It is very much appreciated. To all the boys moving on to the U15/16 squad keep up the good work and have fun. Our S1s will be joined in the new season by a great group of P7s to form the new S1/2 team – with Garry R, Kawe and Steven M becoming part of the new coaching group. Another great group of coaches coming in.
