2nd XV  104 Howe of Fife 12

With not having a game for the past 2 weeks plus the welcome return of a few players, the Blues2s were eager to get back into league action. Local opposition in the shape of Howe o Fife 2xv were the visitors to Bev Park on what was a perfect day for rugby.

Unfortunately Howe were a bit short of players so started with only 12 and the lack of numbers would tell on them towards the end of the game. With it being a league game then the teams don’t need to be equal in numbers, only the scrums are balanced for safety reasons. Kirkcaldy took advantage and had ran in 6 tries in the first half before the extremely game Howe managed 1 of their own. Half time 40 v 7

Even with the score well in their favour the Kirkcaldy coaches were not happy with the performance and sent the players back out in the second half with set goals. If the stern words were not enough then the shock of Howe scoring the next points certainly shook them up. A bit more structure started to come into the home sides play and the spaces were now being exploited. The tiring Howe squad were given a couple of the Kirkcaldy subs to even the numbers up but in the end it was attack v defence with the Blues2s scoring at will. Final score Kirkcaldy 2xv 104 v 12 Howe 2xv.

There was some good performances this week but as always lots to work on at training.
