Kirkcaldy U18 29  Perthshire U18 8
The Kirkcaldy U18 made it three wins out of four in their league fixtures after a hard fought win against Perthshire at Beveridge Park. The wind was generally in Perth's favour in the first half and within the first few minutes they had a lineout five yards out - an excellent catch and a driving maul secured the first score of the day.
At this point it looked like Perth were well on top both in the backs and the forwards and that a tough day was in store for the Kirkcaldy team.

This did appear to waken up the home team and after some sustained pressure Finlay Smith kicked the first points with a penalty followed up by a Callum Adam's try after an excellent solo run from Steven Milne, who at times seemed to be everywhere on the pitch.

A poacher's try from Jamie Ferguson again converted by Finlay Smith brought the half time score to 15-5 which after the opening exchanges could not have been predicted. Skipper Rhys Bonner had to come off injured after a stinger in the ribs-Heather for a brief moment thought her night out was going to be spoiled but Rhys staged a remarkable recovery even asking to go back in the second half!

Perth were first to score in the second half with a penalty but never got close enough to score again. Meanwhile Connor Wood and Jack Pow both scored tries converted by Billy Robertson, who had taken over the kicking duties from Finlay Smith who had retired injured due to cramp.

Jack Pow's try was after a fine individual mazy run which was not his first of the day and certainly gave him a good claim to be man of the match. Rory Brown also made some storming runs and off loaded well in the tackle to his supporting players. A good all round effort and commitment -unfortunately there is now a mini break with no planned fixtures in October before the toughest game in the league schedule at Stirling County.

Team from B.Robertson, T.Truby, J.Ferguson, S.Harvey, E.Povey, F.Smith, C.Parsons, C.Adams, J.Pow, M.Salt, C.Wood, F.Young, S.Milne, R.Bonner(capt), C.McLeod, Z.Chilufya, D.Anderson, R.Brown, C.Hunter, C.Hollingworth, B.Campbell
