Connor Hughes Appeal
Written by Norman White
Monday, 16 February 2015

Last Saturday, prior to the Kirkcaldy v Livingston match, Kirkcaldy vice-president  Jimmy Bonner presented a cheque for £3742 to Sarah Hughes, the sister of Connor Hughes, the  19 year old Stirling University player who broke his neck in a Midlands League game last September.

He is now in the San Diego Project Walk  Paralysis Recovery Centre in California  in  an effort to regain body movements such as walking.  Several visits to this clinic will be needed with their attendant costs which will run into hundreds of thousands of pounds. To this end a fund has been set up and this has been warmly embraced by the rugby community.

Vice-President Jimmy learned of this fund raising and immediately set about finding out how he could help.  He has gathered monies from a wide variety of sources, most especially from individual sponsorship at the annual New Year Loony Dook swimming event in Kirkcaldy.

Donations to this fund can still be made.  By phone  Text CJST95 £(donation amount) to 70070 or Online
