Game 1: Wee Blues v. Dundee The wind blasted across the Perth Inches making the scene akin to something Heathcliff would be used to in certain chapters of Wuthering Heights . Although he didn’t have to negotiate the Perth one-way road system, the Scout camp, a barbeque, a huge marquee or several hundred rugby players! Our first game suggested a highly competitive day ahead – and so it proved. Dundee were physical at the breakdown and the Wee Blues were on the back-foot early on. Defence was to be a key part to today’s proceedings. In this game all three tries came from the defence. With Dundee attacks being stopped, the ball won and the backs moving the ball across the back-line with speed. Amodio scored all the tries. This was a bruising encounter and the score-line flattered the Wee Blues a little although it did reflect the very high skill level demonstrated on the pitch. Final score: won 3 -0 |

The P5 Wee Blues dusted themselves down after a slightly chastening experience the previous week at Gala and arrived at the Kinross tournament last Sunday hoping to improve on their previous outing. In spite of having to drive through snowstorms to get there and then seeing the competition being revamped by the failure of Dundee to field a team at P5 level, the day got off to a good start. With Dundee’s withdrawal the tournament took the form of a double round robin against hosts Glenrothes and long-time rivals Kinross. |

Fife Southern 0 vs Kirkcaldy 30 Season’s end for the Kirkcaldy S1/S2s came with a first ever visit to Rosyth to take on an inexperienced but enthusiastic and committed Fife Southern team. To even up the numbers some of the Kirkcaldy players took turns to play for Southern, ensuring everyone got plenty of game time. Kirkcaldy started brightly with a determined drive up the right wing eventually providing ball for Scott to step inside the defenders and touch down. |

GLENROTHES TOURNAMENT 6th MAY 2012 .jpg) Winners P7 Wee Blues The day started with weather that wouldn’t be out of place in a documentary about the struggles of Eskimos and Polar Bears co-existing in nasty cold places. This was, though, to be the only low point of the day. With the coaches cowering in their cars away from the hail, the P7 squad emerged from the Glenrothes clubhouse looking eager and ready for the day ahead.
With 14 players of the 17-man P7 squad available for selection the coaches had numbers to allow for the implementation of plans. There were plans for tight games, plans for games against teams which plough down the middle, plans for teams who run down the wings and plans for plans that don’t work! A coach can have more plans than is healthy for any clipboard but ultimately it all comes down to the boys on the pitch. Today, the boys really delivered.
Squad: Amodio, Benjamin, Cameron, Craig, Daniel, Harry, Jacob, Joshua, Kyle, Logan, Matthew, Rhys, Rowan, Samuel.

Can I take this opportunity to thank all club members who helped with the 7s on Saturday and made it such a success. With only 7 teams it was a bit of a breeze so we must endeavour to get at least 12 teams for next season. Our two "chefs" did an excellent job but must have smelt a bit after. The youths who played as Presidents Team I thought were excellent and they did not give up, a tribute to their coaches. To the winners some really excellent play from all and a special well done to Messrs Laird and Bonnar who excelled brilliantly. Bob Bease sends his congratulations to the winning team Well done all of us |

Wee Blues P5 at Gala Tournament At a dreich, windswept and bitterly cold Netherdale last Sunday the Wee Blues P5s set forth with the hope of bringing a little bit of sunshine into the hearts of their supporters, who turned up in their usual strong numbers. Sadly, however, it turned out to be one of these days that we all have from time to time when things don’t go quite the way you had planned. The first match was always going to be a test: up against the hosts, Gala. After a shock start when we fell behind to a couple of Gala scores we gradually switched on our game heads and pegged a try back. But Gala got another on and just when we were threatening to make it 3-2 and pile on the pressure a break-away changed the momentum, with Gala running out victors by four tries to one. Cammy collected the only score. |
